Introduction
갤러리 전의 아트기획사 ‘J&Art Platform'이 신진작가의 발굴과 성장을 위해 매년 기획하고 있는 [신진작가 PROJECT]의 올해의 작가로 선정된 '김승환'의 개인전을 개최한다.
영화 ’벌새‘의 포스터 작업을 하기도 한 김승환 작가는 우리 삶의 다양한 모습들을 관찰하며 아련하고 다채로운 색감의 구상작업을 통해 작가 자신과 인간이라는 존재에 대해 사유한다. 작품 속 인물들은 해 질 무렵의 빛인 ’Magic Hour‘ 속의 풍성하고 낭만적인 색감으로 그려져 풍부한 감정과 추억을 불러일으킨다. 작가는 아름답지만 짧은 시간만 만날 수 있는 ’Magic Hour’처럼 세상에 존재하는 아름다움을 포착하고 그려내길 희망한다.
이번 전시는 회화에 조형성이 가미된 조립회화를 포함해 15여 점을 선보인다.
조립회화는 관람자가 작품의 오브제를 직접 조립함으로써 의도치 않은 새로운 결과물로 작품이 완성된다. 정형화되지 않고 무궁무진한 결과물로 도출될 수 있는 조립회화는 새로운 기법을 개척한 획기적인 작품이다.
Gallery Jeon's art agency 'J&Art Platform' will hold a solo exhibition of 'Kim Seung-hwan', who was selected as the artist of the year for [New Artist PROJECT], which is planned every year to discover and grow new artists.
Artist Kim Seung-hwan, who also worked on the poster for the movie 'House of Hummingbird', observes various aspects of our lives and thinks about himself and the existence of humans through vague and colorful conceptual works. The characters in the work are drawn in rich and romantic colors in the 'Magic Hour', the light of dawn, and evoke rich emotions and memories. The artist hopes to capture and portray the beauty that exists in the world, like the 'Magic Hour', which is beautiful but can only be encountered in a short time.
In assembly painting, the art work is completed as an unintended new result by directly assembling the object of the work. Assembly painting, which is not standardized and can be produced as an inexhaustible result, is a groundbreaking work that pioneered a new technique.
