Introduction
갤러리 전의 아트기획사 ‘J&Art Platform'이 신진작가의 발굴과 성장을 위해 매년 기획하고 있는 [신진작가 PROJECT]의 올해의 작가로 선정된 '공예나'의 개인전을 개최한다.
공예나 작가는 현재 홍익대학교 대학원 회화과에 재학 중으로 팝적인 컬러와 변형된 만화 속 캐릭터를 통해 순탄치 않았던 개인의 서사를 풀어놓으며 작품을 통해 고통의 치유와 자유, 희망에 대한 의지를 표현한다. 누구나의 기억 속에 자리하고 있을 법한 작품 속 구상들은 자유로운 형태 속에서 꿈틀거리며 보는 이로 하여금 동심과 상상력을 자극한다. 인물, 오브제, 집 등은 작가의 경험을 바탕으로 결합되고 변형되어 새로운 독창적인 이미지로 나타난다. 이러한 과정을 거치며 작가의 삶의 의지를 담은 새로운 생명을 탄생시킨다.
이번 전시는 공예나 작가의 대구에서 첫 개인전으로 재기발랄하고 상상력 넘치는 작품 20여 점이 전시된다.
Gallery Jeon's art agency 'J&Art Platform' will hold a solo exhibition of 'Kong Yena', who was selected as the artist of the year for [New Artist PROJECT], which is planned every year to discover and grow new artists.
Kong Yena, currently enrolled in the Department of Painting at the Graduate School of Hongik University, expresses the will to heal pain, freedom, and hope through her works by unraveling the difficult personal narrative through pop colors and deformed cartoon characters.
The ideas in the work, which are likely to be in everyone's memory, wriggle in a free form, stimulating the viewer's innocence and imagination. People, objects, houses, etc. are combined and transformed based on the artist's experience to emerge as a new original image. Through this process, a new life containing the will of the artist is born.
This exhibition is Kong Yena's first solo exhibition in Daegu, and about 20 works that are witty and imaginative are on display.
