Van Ray is Germany's most beloved street artist who has been active in Europe and Asia and is recognized. It was introduced for the first time in Korea at the gallery Jeon in June 2022, and the combination of the witty satire and nostalgic characters of the present era added to the artist's sophisticated and stylish work is drawing attention from many people. Since the invitation exhibition this year, many people have also received attention and love in the last 'Kiaf'.
 
Traveling around the world, antiques collected from all over the world are used as materials, and witty messages are arranged in typography with characters that evoke nostalgia from many people's childhood. On top of that, it harmonizes characters that are easy to communicate with the audience by bringing nostalgia from childhood and things that touched the heart in the world where the artist lives. It gives individual implications to the work, not just cute and meaningless characters, and unravels the entire story of the work. With his excellent ability to deal with social and political problems, he tactfully expresses his perspective on the phenomena of modern society.
 
Numerous individual and group exhibitions are being held in Europe, including Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Britain, and Asia, including Korea and Taiwan. The antiques collected by the artist are of social era value by their existence alone, and the work is signed by Van Lay's official logo and signature "Duck."
 
The dollar used in his work is actually a US one dollar bill.

반 레이(Van Ray)는 유럽, 아시아 등지에서 활발하게 활동하며 인정받고 있는 독일에서 가장 사랑받는 스트리트 아티스트이다. 2022년 6월 갤러리 전에서 한국 최초로 소개하였고, 작가의 세련되고 스타일리쉬한 작업에 가미된 현시대의 위트있는 풍자와 향수를 불러오는 캐릭터가 조화된 작품은 많은 이들의 이목을 끌고 있다. 올해 초대전 이후 지난 키아프에서도 많은 이들의 관심과 사랑을 받았다.
 
세계를 여행하여 각지에서 수집한 골동품을 재료로 사용하며, 많은 이들의 어린시절의 향수를 불러 일으키는 캐릭터와 함께 위트있는 메시지를 타이포그래피로 배치한다. 여기에 어린 시절로부터 오는 향수와 작가가 살고 있는 세상에서 마음을 감동시킨 것들을 소재로 끌어오면서 관객과 소통하기 쉬운 캐릭터를 조화시킨다. 그냥 귀엽고 무의미한 캐릭터가 아닌 작품에 개별적인 함의를 부여하고 작품의 전체적인 스토리를 풀어간다. 사회적 정치적 문제점들을 다룰 줄 아는 뛰어난 능력으로 현대사회의 현상들에 대한 그만의 관점을 재치있게 표현하고 있다.
 
독일, 네덜란드, 스페인, 영국 등 유럽 각지와 한국, 대만 등 아시아에서 수많은 개인전 및 그룹전을 진행하고 있다. 작가가 수집한 골동품들은 그 존재만으로도 사회적 시대적 가치가 있는 것들이며, 작품에는 반레이 아트의 공식로고이자 시그니처 ‘오리’로 서명한다.
 
그의 작품에 사용된 달러는 실제 미 1달러 지페이다.
